Common questions
Questions shoppers ask us.
What is a reciprocal exchange?
A reciprocal exchange is an insurance company owned by its policyholder-members, who pool their money together to spread risk. There are no shareholders. The exchange is managed by an attorney-in-fact, which for TRUE is Trusted Resource Underwriters, LLC.
Can I talk with someone before I buy?
Yes. Call us at (833) 854-1203 or email memberservice@trueins.com. A real person on our team will help you with coverage questions, options, and next steps.
Where is TRUE available?
TRUE offers homeowners insurance for residents of Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. In Arizona, policies are only available through select agents.
How much homeowners insurance do I need?
Make sure your policy covers the full cost of rebuilding your home at current construction rates. Coverage for your belongings is typically set as a percentage of your dwelling coverage, but you can customize it. Liability protection helps safeguard you if someone is injured on your property.
Does TRUE provide a replacement cost estimate?
No. The property owner and mortgage lender are in the best position to evaluate the value of the property. We recommend having it appraised by a licensed appraiser so your coverage limits are, and remain, adequate.
Do I need homeowners insurance if I don’t have a mortgage?
It isn’t required by law or a lender, but it’s highly recommended. Without it, you’d be responsible for repair or replacement costs if your home is damaged.
